Hepatitis C Long-term Treatment Against Cirrhosis

Welcome to the HALT-C Trial Website

The HALT-C Trial is a multi-center, randomized controlled study designed to determine if continuing interferon long term over several years will suppress the Hepatitis C virus, prevent progression to cirrhosis, prevent liver cancer and reduce the need for liver transplantation.

The study is supported by the NIDDK (National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases), a branch of the NIH (National Institutes of Health) in conjunction with the universities and organizations below.
